As mentioned on our homepage, the Department of Elderly Services provides a comprehensive community focal point on aging to meet the needs of the older residents of the city, where many of our opportunities are created for people to come together for a variety of services and activities. The department provides those services and activities at the West Haven Senior Center, 201 Noble St., on a daily basis.
Specifically, those activities are based on the practice of recreational therapy/therapeutic recreation through the facilitation of the senior center’s director, a certified therapeutic recreation specialist through NCTRC and departmental staff.
The senior center programs and facilitates the following activities, including but not limited to:
